Who we are

Conservation grounded in knowledge, evidence and stronger livelihoods.

Siafu Community and Conservation Initiative is a community-based organisation dedicated to biodiversity conservation, environmental sustainability and resilient community livelihoods.

We work alongside communities near protected areas, connecting local priorities with practical learning, conservation science and sustainable development.

What we do

Three pathways to lasting conservation

Each focus area strengthens the others—building understanding, improving decisions and supporting communities to thrive alongside nature.

03

Community livelihoods & sustainable development

How we create change

A practical path from local knowledge to lasting impact.

Our approach keeps communities at the centre while connecting learning, evidence and livelihoods to conservation action.

01

Listen and learn

We begin with community priorities, lived experience and local knowledge of the landscape.

02

Build understanding

Conservation education helps schools, communities and stakeholders turn knowledge into stewardship.

03

Generate evidence

Research strengthens conservation action and supports better, locally relevant decisions.

04

Support lasting change

Resilient livelihoods and community leadership help conservation benefits endure.
